A ‘perfect’ home…
by atai @ 22:33 | Comments (5) | Filed under: setia alam, thoughts
Nothing is ever perfect. No matter now much money you spend on it, it will never be perfect. This is because our views and needs change over time. But it does not mean we should not strive for ‘perfection’.
I realise this when I started to work on my new house. No matter how many times we asked the developer to rectify the defects, it still seemed ‘defective’. It got to the point where I could no longer be bothered to call the developer. But it does not mean I’m going to leave the defect there… I’ll just have to work on it myself.
Same with the contractor I had engaged to work on some little things in my house… After a few rounds of rectifications, I think he’s just as fed-up as I am. So I told him to forget everything and just hand me the bill. I’ll touch-up the rest on my own. I know I can do it…
I realised that sometimes, it is OK to have little ‘flaws’… Some self-help guru will tell you its called ‘character’.
A relationship is no different. We should not expect a perfect partner. But we can learn to accept and look at how we can make the relationship ‘perfect’. We should not ask others to improve but instead, we should look at ourselves and ask how we can improve. I know I’m not the perfect husband to my wife. I know I’m far from being perfect… But I will do my best and I know I will improve over time.
I know my house will not be ‘perfect’ when I move it. I know that it will take a lot time and effort to touch up and make it look ‘perfect’. But it is OK with Mrs Tai and I because we know that its the people living in the house that makes it a perfect home.
Even more cabinet issues…

I just dun believe this… My ID (interior designer) guy from Rowenta called me in the evening to tell me that there is another change in the colour codes. This makes it like the 3rd or 4th time I had to look at the new colours and decide…
WTF?!?
These guys own the bl00dy factory and they don’t even know what colours they have?!? And just last week, they gave my IDguy the new set of acrylic samples for me to choose…
*sigh*
So many problems challenges.
Numb…

As I was picking up my wife this evening, I realised that’s what my butt felt…
N-U-M-B
I had been sitting in the car for 2 hours… Stuck in the jam, what else?!? *sigh*

I dun believe this… I got a call this morning from Rowenta. They said that there’s another problem with my kitchen cabinets.
Once again, one of the items is obsolete… Hmmm… I told the guy I hope he don’t call me again tomorrow morning… hahaha…

Slight issue with the kitchen cabinet… Seems one of the items we selected is obsolete…
Anyway, while waiting for the new episodes of Bleach, Mrs Tai and I have started watching a new series — Kekkaishi… Got them from 25kid while I was in Singapore last week.
One down… One to go…

Spoke to one of the contractors today. He said that he’s completed the job. He wants me to check my place and feedback to him so he can touch up even more, if required.
So only thing left is the kitchen cabinet… I tell you… It’s really exciting!
I am here…

Personal projects…

Besides adriantai.com, I’ve also been spending quite a bit of time on two other websites.
I consider these two websites as my personal project. Setia Alam Residents’ Association or SARA is a website created for my new home – Setia Alam. We have a forum and I personally think it’s great as it helps bring the community closer. We recently migrated from a US based server to a local server and its was not an easy task. Luckily I have a good host — Sherman, a childhood friend. For SARA, there are still lots of things to work on, including a new front page.
I think having a community forum is great as we can actually discuss many issues related to the township. I think this is the first time I’ve actually met my ‘neighbours’ before I have even moved in. Some I have even met up for drinks!
The other website is the MPP Zon 21 website. MPP stands for Majlis Perwakilan Penduduk. It is a ‘committee’ set up by Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam or MBSA to bridge the gap between the Shah Alam City Hall and the residents of Shah Alam and in the case of Zone 21 — Setia Alam. This website is also another work in progress. I hope to have more done over the next few weeks. We had just finally got the whole site running during the Raya holidays.
Now you know why sometimes I go missing from this site for days…
My baby Seraphine’s slide?

Is this the slide little angels in heaven play with?
I saw this rainbow this evening on my way back from office. I have to say… It is the biggest rainbow I have seen in a long, long time. Actually, I don’t think I have actually seen a rainbow this big and clear. I wonder how many actually stopped to admire its beauty?
I wonder… Is the colourful rainbow a slide in heaven where little angels play with?
I wonder… My thoughts drift away… I start to think about my baby Seraphine… I miss her. She would have been almost five months old now.
I really, really miss my baby.
Big beer
by atai @ 13:17 | Comments (2) | Filed under: misc

Got up this morning and saw this GIGANTIC can of beer sitting on my parent’s kitchen table. Found out later that… To my surprise, its dad’s… I had thought that it was my brother’s since he came home quite last last night (or should I say early this morning).
Anyone for beer?
In case you’re wondering… It’s actually 5 litres.
