The last two weeks was extremely hectic for me. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a period of time that was so eventful… And tiring.
Besides Gabriel coming into our lives (yup, the name is official as of today), I was also tied up with the office relocation. While the office move was last weekend, a lot of time were spent preparing for the move. And on that ‘office move’ weekend itself, I was working almost round the clock… There was even one day that I got home ‘early’ — 7am the next morning.
My new office is in Bangsar.
A colleague from US was in town for the office move. He got me this as a gift for the new father…

Cigar for the baby boy’s father
And in the two weeks, there were also two visits to the hospital. One was around 9am in the morning and the other was around 3am… The hospital visits are courtesy of Gabriel. On the two occasions, it turned out that we were just overly worried. We’re just glad it was nothing serious — once was probably dehydration and the other, possibly a cold.
This morning itself, we took Gabriel to the paediatrician as his was still having blocked nose and it seems to be getting worse. Paeds confirmed he’s got a bit of cold and sore throat… *sigh* Poor boy.
Going back to about two weeks ago… This also arrived. It’s my surprise for Mrs Tai…

A belated birthday present as well as a present for having braved through the nine months and the delivery… And the late nights that will stick for the next few months…
I know she has been hoping to get a notebook of her own so she could get some office work done, etc… She wanted something small, light and cheap… While she don’t have the time right now to play with the Dell Mini 10v, I know she’s very happy…
FYI, this post is being updated using the Dell Mini 10v. For me, I find the notebook (or netbook) to be generally good. Only ‘complaints’ I have is the so-called ‘floating touchpad’ and the keyboard. I really don’t know how to use that touchpad and at times, I’m really annoyed by it. As for the keyboard, I guess I just need some time to get used to it.
Did some shopping this afternoon on behalf of Mrs Tai. She asked me to get a few things and the day ended with me having used up rm700… All for Gabriel-related items… Baby-related items are not cheap!

Some of the items I bought
Never send a guy out to do shopping without a shopping list. I thought i could be proud of myself and tell Mrs Tai that I helped out… When I got home, I realised I left out a few items including rice — ya, I forgot to buy food.
p/s: Gabriel’s photos will come in 1-2 days time…
What is the Chinese name for baby Gabriel…

Well, I surely believe you are having a real hectic time with a new angel/baby in your family! Looking fwd to seeing Gabriel’s pics.

@Thomas: Tai Herng (戴 恒)
@CT: Abt rm1.8k because of the 3yrs ‘complete cover’ warranty. otherwise, the unit with standard 1yr warranty is rm1.2k.
@KP: She was quite impressed with your notebook… As for the food, well, I went out on Thu to get them…

Trust me, this is just the beginning!!! But remember, for both you and Mrs. Tai…ask for help when you need it! After all, the proverb ~ it takes a village to raise a child! ~ is SO TRUE!!!
