Cucumbers in my garden
by atai @ 20:17 | Comments (1) | Filed under: misc

Before I left for Singapore, we planted some cucumber seeds in a small pot. While I was in Singapore, Mrs Tai told me that the cucumbers have sprouted. We were naturally quite excited as this is our ‘first’ project after doing up the garden. When I got back, I ‘transplant’ the cucumber sprouts to a bigger pot…

It was a mistake. Most of them died… Only two managed to survive.

Anyway, we noticed the cucumber had two different sets of leaves… We were puzzled.

We did some ‘research’ and learnt something new — true leaves. That also explains why the sprouts died. We should have waited until they all had true leaves before trying to transplant.

So far, these two sprouts seems to be doing fine. We hope they’ll grow into healthy plants… :)
