The morning glory story…
by atai @ 12:17 | Comments (2) | Filed under: setia alam

The morning glory Mrs Tai asked me to take care died. I think it started to die shortly after my flowers in my garden post.

I really don’t know what happened. I gave it enough water, fertiliser, etc… Then one day, it just decided to slowly dry up. Started to turn all brown on the leaves, then the stem…

When it was almost all dried up, I found some seeds. Took all five of them and put it aside while I continued with my gardening work. As I was about to put them into pots, I noticed one seed was missing…

Grrrr… Now I’ve got only four left. Planted them and about 2 weeks later… :)

The new morning glory
Two out of four seeds have grown into small plants. The pot at the ‘bottom’ is the dried up morning glory.

The missing seed now a plant...
The missing seed also a plant now!

  1. Did you put too much water? You need to water them daily, sprinkle will be find, no need to “pour” too much… once a day is sufficient. Fertilize them once a week. if you are using the ‘biji’ type, sprinkle 3 to 4 biji per pot enough. and every 2 weeks, good to take a spade and loosen the soil. and continue with the fertilizing step. And when the plant started to flower, trim the plant about 2 weeks (cut part of the branch). this helps to grow more flowers later. happy gardening!
